Forever Paws is a full-stack pet adoption platform built with a Next.js 16 frontend and Express.js backend, connecting shelters and foster caregivers with adopters through a structured, trust-based system. The platform features role-based access (Adopter/Shelter), a real adoption application lifecycle, and an AI-powered chat assistant integrated with the Google Gemini API that helps users search for pets conversationally using natural language queries. Key features include pet browsing with filters, detailed pet profiles with image galleries, dashboards for managing listings and applications, and a dark/light mode UI powered by Tailwind CSS.
